Dietary supplements by Terra Canis – for the perfect nutrient mix
Dogs cannot live off meat alone: this is why Terra Canis has developed a balanced dietary supplement for animals that are mainly fed with raw or cooked meat or canned meat. The Garden Casserole in a tin and the Garden Mix dry mixes are ideal for mixing dog food yourself that is species-appropriate. Gently cooked or dried fruit and vegetables enrich the daily ration of meat with important vital and fibre substances.
The ideal supplement to the meat ration
Our dietary supplements not only make BARF diets easier, but are also ideally suited to feeding dogs a protein-reduced diet based on medical indications. Simply mix the air-dried fruit and vegetables in our Garden Mix into the wet food. 25 grams of Garden Mix together with 75 grams of water correspond to 100 grams of fresh vegetables. We recommend leaving the food to soak for 15 minutes and then mixing in the calcium. The gentle air drying process means that the plant fibres are easily utilised by the animal. The Garden Mix can also be puréed for even better digestibility.
Full of vital substances
Like our Garden Mix, Garden Casserole contains fruit and vegetables in the ideal ratio of 80 to 20 and exclusively ingredients in 100 per cent human-grade quality. All ingredients are gently cooked to preserve the valuable nutrients. To supplement meat, simply give your dog the same amount of Garden Casserole that you would feed them in the form of fresh vegetables. As a supplement to our wet food menu, four grams of Garden Casserole per kilogram of body weight are enough to enrich vital substances.
By the way: with our garden drops, you can give your four-legged friend an extra portion of nutrients even on the go. The vegetarian treats are healthy, taste good and contain only the best ingredients in a balanced mix. The perfect reward for on the go! They are also suitable for dogs that must be fed with a protein or phosphorus-reduced diet because of liver and kidney diseases as well as dogs that need to be fed a low-fat diet due to being overweight or because of pancreatic issues. These treats are also a good choice for dogs with leishmaniasis.
Our new supplementary food line Cenpur comprises a variety of natural active substances and nutrients that have a long tradition in natural history and are used in many different ways. Turmeric, milk thistle, passion flower, sango coral, devil's claw, olive leaf extract and chlorella – they all contain countless, highly efficient active ingredients and micronutrients and can support the organism of the dog. A Cenpur complex can be used as a dietary treatment over several days or weeks as required for the targeted supply of vitamins and minerals to the dog or as a long-term food supplement for healthy or ageing dogs to promote healthy organs and body functions.
When is a dietary supplement a sensible idea?
In short, whenever you are feeding your dog with complete feed for dogs that does not cover your four-legged friend's needs for all essential nutrients. Feeding purely with fresh meat (Barf diet) certainly provides your four-legged friend with high-quality protein, but minerals and vitamins have to be supplied additionally via plant food. Even in the wild, the dog would instinctively supplement its diet in the same way as its wild ancestors did with grasses, herbs, roots, fallen fruit and berries, partly directly as supplementary food and partly by ingesting it in the stomach contents of its prey. You can still observe this today if your dog eats grass. As a pet owner, you are responsible for providing your four-legged friend with a balanced diet that optimally promotes the dog’s health. However, when cooking your dog's food yourself, you need some knowledge of the composition of food in order to be able to cover the needs of your four-legged friend. It's much easier to use Terra Canis dietary supplements. Our Garden Casserole mixes are composed in a balanced way and can be easily utilised by the dog as the plant fibres have been broken down by chopping, cooking and puréeing.
Feeding essential fatty acids as a supplement
Healthy fatty acids are another important component of a complete diet. In order to cover natural requirements, a feed supplement with valuable oils might be needed. A higher proportion of fat in the diet can also help if your dog is underweight and needs to put on weight. Together with more carbohydrates, the calorie intake can be increased in a healthy way with fat. The Terra Canis mix Gold Rush blend with hempseed oil, argan oil, black cumin oil, linseed oil and rose hip seed oil comprises a high-quality blend of vegetable oils that makes it easy for you to supply your pet with essential fatty acids. Simply mix the oil mix into the dog's usual food. This is how easy it is to add supplements!
